NUTRITION BELOW THE SUBSTRATE
Close to the roots.
ThriveTabs concentrates nutrients in a tablet buried in the substrate. It is intended for plants that feed through their roots, especially where the substrate supplies few nutrients.
A supplement when needed
Liquid fertilizer feeds the water column. Tablets provide another route for nutrition; they are not automatically needed in every aquarium.
Three steps for use.
- Bury the tablet completely near the roots, deep enough to stay covered.
- NilocG recommends spacing doses about 13–15 cm (5–6 inches) apart.
- The manufacturer suggests replacing them every 3–4 months. Follow the label of the pack received and observe your plants.
When moving plants, avoid exposing tablets to the water column.

Manufacturer’s guaranteed analysis: nitrogen 3%, phosphate 1.4%, potash 9.25%, magnesium 1.25%, iron 2%, boron 0.025%, manganese 0.28%, molybdenum 0.0002% and zinc 0.0045%.
Should Caps and Tabs be used together?
No: both serve the same root-feeding purpose. Choose one format; combining both in the same spot is not a recommended routine.
Do they replace liquid fertilizer?
Not necessarily. Requirements depend on the plants, substrate and nutrients already present in the water.

Two formats, the same role.
Caps are capsules, sold here in a 60-count jar. Tabs are tablets; our pack size will be confirmed on arrival. NilocG specifies the same 13–15 cm spacing and 3–4 month replacement interval. Their guaranteed analyses differ slightly.
Neither is demonstrated to be universally better: choose the format that suits you. There is no need to combine both in the same spot.
